How was Gulliver protected in the farmer's house ? = The farmer's wife and her daughter prepared a tiny bed for Gulliver . They put the bed on a low shelf inside a cupboard so as to be safe from rats
What was Glumdalclitch's hobby ? How did Gulliver benefit from it ?= She was interested in sewing . She made Gulliver clothes (seven shirts and four pairs of trousers )and dressed him like a doll
. In the farmer's house , Gulliver was taught their language ( the language of Brobdingnag ) practically . How ? = Glumdalclitch taught him their language by pointing at things and telling him what they were called
What name did Glumdalclitch give to Gulliver ? = She named him " Grildrig " ( meaning "puppet" ) She considered him a toy
Why did the farmer's friend seemed upset with Gulliver ?= Because when he looked at Gulliver , Gulliver thought his eyes looked like two giant moons through two enormous widows and that made him laugh
The farmer's friend was a wicked man . Why ? = When he saw Gulliver making fun of him , he told the farmer to take him to the market so that he can earn more money from him .
Glumdalclitch was a sincere , kind-hearted girl . How ? = When she knew that her father would take him to the market , she was worried and asked her father to let her go with them to guard Gulliver so as not to be hurt by any one
Mention a situation in which Gulliver felt weak and fragile . = When they were in the inn near the market , a school boy threw a nut at him . It was the same size as a large rock .It would surely have killed him and Gulliver was pleased as the boy was sent out of the room
Luck stood beside Gulliver .Show how . = Although the farmer thought that Gulliver could not work another day as he looked like a skeleton , a servant arrived from the palace and told the farmer to take Gulliver at once to show him to the queen
What did the queen offer Gulliver ? = She offered him to live in the palace with the king and her family .
Prove that Gulliver was a man of principles . = When the queen offered him to stay in the palace , he said that he belonged to the farmer and he would not mind to live there but only if the farmer agreed
